The 10th edition of the International Convention of Prospectors and Explorers - proEXPLO 2017, organized by The Peruvian Institute of Mining Engineers, will be held on May 8th – 10th, 2017 at Sheraton Lima Hotel & Convention Center, Lima, Peru.
In this opportunity, under the motto "Mineral Exploration, Core of the Mining Industry", we would like to emphasize the key role that mineral exploration plays in the process of discovering new mineral bodies and its importance as a key component of the mining value chain.
The International Convention of Prospectors and Explorers has grown considerably since it began in 1997. The last edition, held in 2015, despite poor market conditions and drop in metal prices, attracted over 1,100 attendees. proEXPLO 2017 not only has the challenge to overcome this target audience, but also maintain high quality presentations and conferences by offering an up-to-date technical program, which should be in line with mineral exploration in the region, address social and environmental challenges and emphasize the need of developing new technologies for identifying deeper or hidden ore deposits.
The program will be clearly focused on mineral exploration business, including technical sessions on Andean metallogeny, geology and exploration of main ore deposits located in Peru and the region, geophysics, geochemistry, new technologies applied to mineral exploration and assessment of prospects and projects for mineral exploration.
A special session on New Discoveries in Latin America Session will allow us to learn about the process of exploring and development of the most recent discoveries in the region.
In addition, the characteristics of advanced mining projects and the challenges facing upcoming Peruvian producers in developing these projects will be discussed.
Particular attention will be given to Top Mining Exploration Session and, as in previous years, it will be focused on financial and capital markets for mining exploration business.
Corporate social responsibility and community relations issues in exploration projects, environmental regulations and permits in Peru, the role of regional governments and communities and various master lectures by world renowned expert lecturers will complement the existing program.
Although the above mentioned topics will be the main body of the convention, it will include short courses and field trips to main deposits and projects located in Peru, which will take place before or after the convention.
As President of the Organizing Committee for proEXPLO 2017 and on behalf of The Peruvian Institute of Mining Engineers (IIMP), I would like to invite professionals master in mineral exploration, researchers, consultants, mining companies and services companies to participate in the 10th International Convention of Prospectors and Explorers.
